More War of 1812 test games

this Thursday and Friday saw me trying out a scenario that might make it into the War of 1812 book I’m putting together for Too Fat Lardies. I don’t want to say too much about it as its still in the design phase but it involves one side who are low on supplies defending a half built fort, whilst the other side attacks and attempts to capture the fort

in the games we played it was the US side defending and the Bits attacking

Thursday saw the scenario being played out by 4 players Geoff and Steve Bond, Matt Slade and Ralph Plowman

Matt and Ralph played the US side and managed to catch the British under the generalship of Steve and Geoff in a pincer movement and pretty much wiped them out in short order

On Friday I played the US side against my good mate Mark who managed to move up the table in good order and take the fort just before my supply column arrived

so 2 days, 1 scenario and 2 completely different outcomes, I’m taking a modified version of this scenario to Evesham for Ade Deacons Lardy day where I can test it out again

cant wait..

oh here’s some pictures of both games

Looking forward to the book Mike, I’m already amassing books on the subject. I see another project on the horizon…

    Hi Mike.
It’s fabulous that you’re doing this work on the War of 1812. I’ve been studying the conflict for better than 50 years and would like to share what I’ve learned with you if you’re interested.
