Boardgame day

Yesterday myself and the Bond Brothers (Geoff and Steve) met up at Firestorm games for a day of gaming. originally we planned a big Sharp practice game but unfortunately a couple of people couldn’t make it so we decided to play some board games instead.
first up was Command and Colours Ancients which Geoff was keen to try out. We played the first scenario from the book as it allowed Geoff to learn the game quickly and he was really taken with it and is going to pick up a copy for himself sometime soon.
following on from that I showed Steve Jugula, again another success and Steve is now talking about doing a campaign once he gets the rules and some figures
finally we played Firefly, I was a bit rusty on the rules and the other hadn’t played it either so it was a slow start and we obviously made a few mistakes, but it was a good game and reminded me of how much I like the game.
so in all we spent about 6 hours in Firestorm, played 3 games and are now planning another day out to do something similar
I’ve always fancied this. I hear it is similar to Merchants of Venus, which is a favourite of mine (I have the old AH version). So many games…
I haven’t played Merchants of Venus so cant compare, but its a fun game which needs more PvP interaction (fixed in the expansion)
