Sunday Boardgame day at Firestorm Games

For the second weekend in a row a gang of us got together for a days gaming at Firestorm games, this week it was myself, Mark, Steve and Ty

Ty brought along Scythe that he got in the Kickstarter.

I have to say Scythe was completely different to anything I’ve ever played before,  the scope of the game left me wondering what I was doing for most of the first half of the game. Eventually it all just clicked and I found myself planing 3 turns ahead and working towards a goal.

Here’s the game during the mid phase, I’m the blue faction

I’m not going to go into the mechanics of the games as Tom Vassel at Dice Tower has done a fantastic review, of it. I just wished I had watched it before we played it.

after 3 hours I managed to get all 6 stars and finished the game and with 62 points I came second to Ty. I do want to play this game again so I will be pestering Ty to bring it back down Firestorm for another outing soon.

after that Mark brought out his Command and Colours Napoleonic’s as Steve was interested in learning that.

I always enjoying seeing Marks setup of C&C as the figures just work so well in the game. as we expected Steve was a convert to the game and I think he’s added it to his shopping list.

so all in all it was another great day spent with my mates, and I’m looking forward to the next one
