Achtung! Cthulhu Rise of the Black Sun – Unboxing

Way back in April 2016 I pre-ordered the Achtung! Cthulhu Rise of the Black Sun starter set from Modiphius and after a very long time it actually arrived today, so I have taken a few pictures of the contents

The Achtung! Cthulhu Skirmish Game is based on Spartan games’s Dystopian Legion rules engine which is a game I enjoy playing so when I found out that there would be an AC version I decided to jump in and order it.

the 2 player starter set was good value and contains the following products

  • Achtung! Cthulhu Skirmish: Commander’s Set
  • 32 Page Rise of the Black Sun Campaign Book
  • Extra Card Deck (TAC Cards, Mythos Events, Spell Cards)
  • Extra 15 dice (5 Red, 5 Blue, 5 Black)
  • 3 x Allied Investigators (Professor Deadman, Natalya Petrova and her creature, Sergeant Carter)
  • 3 x Pathfinder Demonhunters
  • 6 x Badger’s Commando’s
  • 3 x Black Sun Villains (Black Sun Canon, Master and Die Tote guard)
  • 10 x Black Sun Troopers
  • 10 x Servitor’s of Nyarlathotep Horde

unfortunately the extra card deck and dice were missing from the set I got but I’ve been in contact with Modiphius to get them sent out, but everything else arrived so lets look at what I got

Achtung! Cthulhu Skirmish: Commander’s Set – this is a small box set containing the rules, tokens, cards and pretty much everything else needed to play the game

Campaign Book

Pathfinder Demonhunters and Black Sun Villains

Badger’s Commando’s

Allied Investigators

Black Sun Troopers

Servitor’s of Nyarlathotep Horde

if I brought all of this individually it would have cost about £150 so the £89 I spent on the pre-order made it a bargain, I’ll unpack the 2 figure boxes later this week and post some pics of the sculpts and who knows maybe I’ll paint some as well
