Blood Rage – Whats in the Box

On Saturday I managed to get a lift to the UK Games Expo with my good mate Geoff Bond (Hi Geoff) and I had a brilliant day. I spent a lot of time hanging out with Neil, and the 2 Dave’s from Meeples and Miniatures just chatting to people and taking in the show.

anyway I’m sure there will be a lot of talk about the show on the next Meeples show so I won’t bore you with it today, thats because today I want to show you something I brought whilst there, which is a game called Blood Rage

Boardgame Geek does a pretty good job of describing the game

In Blood Rage, each player controls their own Viking clan’s warriors, leader, and ship. Ragnarök has come, and it’s the end of the world! It’s the Vikings’ last chance to go down in a blaze of glory and secure their place in Valhalla at Odin’s side! For a Viking there are many pathways to glory. You can invade and pillage the land for its rewards, crush your opponents in epic battles, fulfill quests, increase your clan’s stats, or even die gloriously either in battle or from Ragnarök, the ultimate inescapable doom.

This game has been on my radar for a while and I looked at it when it came out on Kickstarter, but unfortunately it came out around the same time as Conan and I couldn’t do 2 big games that quickly, but this weekend I saw it on offer at the Expo and picked it up.

so here is the first of 2 posts on the game components and first up lets look at the box

when its opened we see the board

under that are various components

the rule book

The player cards, cards and various other components

there is also the board in all its glory

and below that 2 boxes filled with figures

my next post will go into the figures in more detail as they are lovely, but for now if you want to find out more about the game take a look at the Dice Tower Review and the brilliant ‘Watch It Played’ run through
